The Samuel Zell and Robert Lurie Real Estate Center was so named in recognition of its permanent endowment by Samuel Zell in 1998. The Center was established in 1983 by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania to promote excellence in real estate education and research.

Spring Members' Meeting 2009 – Summary
The Spring Members' Meeting took place on April 28-29, 2009 at the Rittenhouse Hotel, Philadelphia. Our dinner speaker on Tuesday, April 28, was Fareed Zakaria (pictured, far right), foreign affairs analyst and editor of Newsweek International. Housing Finance Program Will Focus on "Changing Global Environment"

The International Housing Finance Program, under the direction of Marja Hoek-Smit, will hold its two-week program for emerging market economies in June. This year, the focus is on "Housing Finance in a Changing Global Environment," with sessions on Islamic Finance and Sharya compliant securitization. A two day securitization workshop will follow.
