  • • Led project team, for this $20M, 95 Unit landmark restoration and new construction. The mixed-use facility is dedicated to low-income seniors & grand-families referred from NYC homeless shelters
  • • Managed complex approvals process involving a BSA zoning variance, Landmarks Certificate of Appropriateness, HPD approval, and LEED certification
  • • LEED Silver – Rated, energy efficient design, including ground source heat pumps, that was a pilot project for the NYSERDA Energy-Star Rating program for residential construction
  • 334 Bonner Place, Bronx, NY – Mixed-Use Daycare & Senior Housing; Client: Mid-Bronx Senior Citizens\' Council
  • • Full pre-development services for $14M proposed facility, including zoning studies and various concept designs for a tight, unique site
  • • Presentation of concept design to City Council for discretionary budget allocation

ARCHITECTURE FOR HUMANITY

Country Director

  • Collaborated with a team of five local architects to assess post-tsunami conditions
  • Organized & conducted community design workshops with victims
  • Coordinated with national planners and with United Nations representatives
  • Prepared master plan for two villages, 2500 people total, and over 100 homes, including the coordination of all donor groups building permanent housing in the area
  • Established Architecture for Humanity as an NGO in Sri Lanka
  • Drafted & executed an agreement with the Government of Sri Lanka for the design & construction of five public buildings in Kirinda as part of the master plan
  • Solicited schematic designs from the local team of architects, prepared a construction estimate, negotiated contracts with local builders and architects
  • Worked with Relief International to identify schools in need of temporary shelter
