This year’s Spring Members Meeting of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center
held at the Rittenhouse Hotel, Philadelphia, once again provided a
unique opportunity to bring together a diverse group of outstanding
industry professionals, Wharton faculty, and students. Discussions
covered the impact of September 11 on real estate, the current economic
downturn, design and construction changes on the horizon, niche markets
and the pros and cons of being publicly or privately owned. While the
panels featured speakers from real estate development and services
firms and investment banking houses, Glenn Hubbard, chairman of the
President’s Council of Economic Advisers, provided the broad economic
backdrop in his keynote address.
