Students Gain Valuable Insights at Real Estate Career Panel
More than 80 students attended a morning of Real Estate Career Panels on Friday, October 25. The panels provided students with the opportunity to gain advice and learn from the experiences of recent graduates and long-time industry leaders. Associate Director Asuka Nakahara welcomed the students and moderated the "Development" panel. Guest professionals who graciously served on this panel were: Kevin Donohoe - The Kevin F. Donohoe Company, Eric Kuczarski - National Trust for Historic Preservation, Douglas Grayson - Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust and Jeffrey J. Rhodes - The Rhodes Company. Nakahara also served as moderator for the "Real Estate Investment Management and Operations" panel. The panelists were Sara E. Bleier - Roseland Property Company, Paula Charles - General Growth Properties, Hether Smith - Julien J. Studley, Inc. and Jim Mazzarelli - Liberty Property Trust. Associate Professor Chris Mayer was the moderator for the final panel of the morning on "Real Estate Finance." His guest panelists were Dean Adler - Lubert-Adler Partners, LP, Christophe Terlizzi - Citizen’s Bank and Alan R. Braxton - Banc of America Securities. The Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center is extremely grateful to all the panelists who took time out from their busy schedules to share their unique and invaluable insights with our students.
Zell/Lurie Center Helps Inaugurate the "Opportunities for Women in Real Estate" Series
The first ever "Opportunities for Women in Real Estate" panel took place on Thursday evening, November 7. The Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center’s Associate Director, Asuka Nakahara, welcomed the students and guests. Panelists included Julie Bauch - Merrill Lynch, Karen Dorigan - CarrAmerica, Leslie Wohlman Himmel - Himmel + Meringoff Properties, and Sarah Peck - Progressive Housing Ventures. The panel was well received by the almost three dozen students in the audience. The Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center, the women of the MBA Real Estate Club and Wharton Women in Business would like to thank the panelists who ensured a successful inauguration of this program.
A Panel Discussion on the Cira Centre
The Graduate School of Fine Arts Real Estate Club hosted a panel discussion on the proposed Cira Centre, a 32-story office building at 30th Street Station, Philadelphia. The event took place in Meyerson Hall on Tuesday evening, November 12. The panelists were Jerry Sweeney - Brandywine Realty Trust, Jack Shannon - University of Pennsylvania, Mark Shoemaker - Cesar Pelli Architects, and Sally Bellet - Amtrak Real Estate Development. The Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center sincerely thanks the panelists for taking time from their hectic schedules to come to campus and share their vision of the Cira Centre with our students.
