Zell/Lurie Research Sponsors Events
We are delighted to announce a series of special events for the Research Sponsors of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center.
The inaugural event was a roundtable real estate discussion in New York City. Professors Joe Gyourko and Peter Linneman hosted the luncheon on March 15 at Café Gray in the Time Warner Center. In addition to enjoying a superb meal with spectacular views of Columbus Circle and Central Park, more than 30 Research Sponsors took part in a lively discussion initiated by Milton Cooper, chairman and co-founder of Kimco Realty Corp. After Mr. Cooper got the ball rolling with a discussion on emerging issues in the public markets and the retail sector, the conversation evolved into spirited exchanges of ideas about international property markets, the benefits and costs of public versus private investment, and more.
Research Sponsors are also invited to Chicago on June 1, 2006 for a luncheon at the Avenues Restaurant of the Peninsula Hotel in the heart of the Loop District. The guest speaker is Richard L. Sandor, Ph.D., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Climate Exchange, Inc. Dr. Sandor is one of the nation's most innovative thinkers and practitioners in the area of risk management. He is widely recognized as the 'father' of the interest rate derivatives market and also played a leading role in the development of catastrophe insurance derivates. Presently, he is involved in the design of market-based mechanisms for environmental protection programs.
