Professor Lynne Sagalyn moderated the panel of "heavy-hitting" female professionals from real estate private equity, development, asset management, and architecture. Student organizers included Lauren Cahill, Andrea Wong, and Anne Carson of the School of Design, and Elisabeth Wadsworth, Michelle Moudry, Eleanor Hsu, and Joyce Chow of Wharton. The event took place on February 21.
Real Estate Team Achieves Success in New Competition
Congratulations to the Penn/Wharton team that took home a trophy at the first annual Graduate Real Estate Case Competition at George Washington University. Nineteen teams submitted first-round proposals in February; six teams advanced to the final round of presentations, on March 31 on GW's campus, and the Penn/Wharton team placed second overall. The competition required teams to "develop" a site adjacent to a D.C.-area Metro station. Judges included development professionals and actual community/Metro stakeholders. The team members were Andrew Basile, Troy Daniel, Ray Demers of the School of Design, Jan Dornbush, Matt Kelly of the School of Design, and Kelly Meissner.
