David Simon, CEO of Simon Property Group, recently passed away at the much-too young age of 64. Not only was he a visionary leader in modern retail real estate, David and his family have also been long-term supporters of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center. During his time with the Center, David was highly engaged and contributed thought leadership, leaving a lasting impression on students, faculty, and fellow members. The Zell/ Lurie Real Estate Center extends its deepest condolences to David’s family, friends, and colleagues. He will be remembered for his extraordinary impact on the industry and enduring influence on those who had the opportunity to learn from and work alongside him. He is survived by his wife, Jackie, their five children, and seven grandchildren.
