Anjum Sharma is based in the New York office for Barings and serves as Senior Director – US Acquisitions, leading sourcing efforts for the US northeast and Florida markets. Previously, Anjum led US real estate acquisitions on behalf of the family office for Otto Happel in Denver, CO and prior to that was Head of Northeast Acquisitions and Dispositions for Brookfield Asset Management based in New York. Prior to Brookfield, Anjum was on the acquisitions teams at The Carlyle Group, Starwood Capital Group, and a Starwood spinoff multifamily focused firm, Bluerock Real Estate (NYSE: BRG). She has closed over $6Bn in transactions throughout her career. Anjum received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and her MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where she was a Joseph Wharton Fellow.
