Ron Pressman is CEO of TIAA-CREF's Institutional Financial Services business.
In this role, Mr. Pressman is responsible for leading and strengthening the firm's Institutional Financial Services businesses to help clients manage and solve their financial challenges and provide a lifetime of financial security to their employees. TIAA-CREF is the not-for-profit retirement market leader, serving more than 16,000 institutions and 3.7 million institutional plan participants, and managing more than $530 billion in assets on their behalf. In addition to overseeing TIAA-CREF's institutional retirement and robust and growing endowments and foundations businesses, which include Kaspick & Company, and Covariance Capital Management, Ron also oversees Product Management, the Client Services Group, and the firm's retiree healthcare savings business, including its expanded partnership with Emeriti® Retirement Health Solutions.
Mr. Pressman joined TIAA-CREF in 2012 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing Strategy, Consulting, M&A and Asset Management; he later assumed responsibility for Information Technology and Client Services and helped shape the Asset Management and Retirement & Individual businesses.
Most recently, Mr. Pressman was responsible for establishing and driving TIAA-CREF's strategic vision, optimizing organizational performance, diversifying businesses and revenue sources, and enabling the firm to deliver an instantaneous, simple, flawless customer experience. In that expanded role, he oversaw key enterprise capability areas, including Corporate Strategy & Development, Information Technology, TIAA-CREF's digital transformation, the Office of Business Effectiveness and the TIAA-CREF Institute. He also led the firm's endowment and foundations and planned giving businesses and was the executive sponsor of TIAA's efforts to develop a donor advised funds capability for participants.
Mr. Pressman has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services, investment management, real estate and insurance industries. Prior to joining TIAA-CREF, Mr. Pressman most recently served as president and CEO of GE Capital Real Estate and as director of the GE Capital Services and GE Capital Corporation boards. Previously, he served as president and CEO of GE Asset Management and chairman, president and CEO of GE Employers Reinsurance Group. Pressman also held global leadership positions as CEO of GE Energy Europe, Africa, Middle East and Southwest Asia and the general manager for GE International's Central and Eastern European markets.
Mr. Pressman is a Charter Trustee of Hamilton College, and a director of Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited. He also holds leadership positions in various philanthropic organizations serving as the Chairman of the National Board of A Better Chance and a director of Pathways to College.
