Niel Thassim
Managing Partner, Head of Asia Pacific & Middle East, Private Funds, Brookfield Asset Management
Niel Thassim is a Managing Partner and Head of Asia Pacific & Middle East for Brookfield’s Private Funds Group. In this role, he is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with leading investment partners in the region.
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2013, Mr. Thassim served as Managing Director and the Asia Pacific Head of Deutsche Bank’s real estate investment management business (RREEF) and held various senior roles within RREEF and Deutsche Bank. Prior to this, he held executive positions with Coopers & Lybrand, Bankers Trust, Credit Suisse First Boston and Colonial First State Investments.
Mr. Thassim holds a Master of Applied Finance degree from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Sydney. He serves as a Global Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute, a Board Member of both ANREV and the National University of Singapore’s Institute of Real Estate & Urban Studies. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.
