Gus Sauter served as Chief Investment Officer, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager of The Vanguard Group, Inc., where he worked for 25 years. Founded in 1975, Vanguard is one of the world’s largest investment companies, known for their low-cost options including more than 380 traditional funds and ETFs.
During his twenty-five year tenure at Vanguard, Mr. Sauter took assets in the firm’s signature index funds from less than $10 billion to $1.2 trillion. Barron’s notes that Mr. Sauter, “…staked a quiet claim as the 21st century’s standard bearer of the index fund.”
