Joseph Briggs is a senior economist on the U.S. Economics team in Global Investment Research at Goldman Sachs. Before joining Goldman Sachs in 2019, Joseph was a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Board where he led the construction of the Fed’s Distributional Financial Accounts and conducted research that was published in leading academic journals like the Journal of Political Economy and the Journal of Financial Economics. Joseph also previously worked as an economist with the Vanguard Research Initiative. Joseph received an MA and a PhD in economics from New York University and a BS in mathematics from North Carolina State University. At Goldman Sachs, Joseph writes research on a variety of topics related to the US economy and financial markets.
