2020-2021: The Year in Review
Dr. Marja Hoek-Smit retired from the Center.

Marja Hoek-Smit, Director and Founder of the International Housing Finance Program at the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center, will retire from these positions this August. Marja founded the International Housing Finance Program in 1985 and the Housing Finance Information Network in 2008, and has been a leader in research on urban and housing policy in emerging market economies and developing countries. Despite retiring from the Center, Marja will continue to teach at Wharton on a part-time basis. This fall she will teach International Real Estate Comparisons – a non-U.S. focused course, which explores the world of cross-border real estate development, focusing on fast-growing emerging market economies.
