2021-2022: The Year in Review

The five student real estate clubs saw the return of in-person treks and club events.

After University travel restrictions were lifted this semester, the Wharton MBA Real Estate Club began to schedule numerous treks and case competitions. On October 8, 2021, The Wharton Real Estate Club traveled to New York City. Club members were able to take a tour of Hudson Yards and were hosted by Related and Hines. Afterward, the Club hosted a happy hour with alumni based in New York City.

On November 5, 2021, the Wharton Undergraduate Real Estate Club traveled to New York to partake in small-group conversations with industry leaders from Brookfield, Silverstein Properties, and Vornado Realty Trust.

The Penn Women in Real Estate (PSWiRE) club hosted many events, including a Fireside Chat Q&A with Kimberly Sherman Stamler, a PSWiRE x NYC Alumni Networking event, and dinner with Anne Papageorge.

In addition, the Weitzman School Real Estate Club hosted industry talks with Ximena Valle and Asuka Nakahara, as well as an alumni panel discussion on careers.

Penn Law Real Estate Club held club networking lunches, happy hours and held an event at Circa Green in Philadelphia in conjunction with several different business law-oriented clubs at Penn Law.

Susan Wachter was awarded the John M. Quigley Medal for Advancing Real Estate and Urban Economics by the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association.  The 2022 Spring Members’ Meeting was held in person at The Inn at Penn.
